FAQs

Where is your practice located?

My practice is located in Georgia. I currently work virtually (online) for all therapy sessions.

What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy focuses on more complex emotional and mental health behaviors that are causing significant disruption in personal, occupational, and social functioning. It is process oriented where we focus on the content of experiences, past and present, and develop strategies and coping mechanisms to help change negative behavioral patterns. My training and license as a professional counselor allow me to provide therapy/counseling for state of Georgia residents only at this time. Please see my Therapy services page for more information on my approach and audience for therapy.

My approach to coaching is rooted in a holistic and experiential approach that fosters creativity in thought, words, and actions. We do not take a deep dive into trauma or complete behavioral assessments that are specific to diagnoses. Coaching is about creative life navigation for transformation in mindset, career, and confidence building. This service is for those looking for more clarity of mind around a concern, a project, or a goal. You may also be looking for accountability, and specific actions to take to make your goal happen. Coaching is not covered by insurance.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance through my private practice for therapy. All services are private pay/out of pocket. However, I partner with other mental health service providers including Headway, Alma, and Grow for individuals who want to use insurance. I currently accept Aetna, Anthem (BCBS), Cigna, and Optum. Please visit the contact me now page at the top to send me a question regarding using your insurance.

What therapy techniques do you use in sessions?

I use and am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I also use practices from Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and somatic practices for emotional regulation and trauma. There are some energy practices that are complimentary that I may recommend as a part of holistic offering for treatment. My approach is integrative and personalized to best meet your treatment needs.

How much do you charge?

My rate is $170 for a standard hour session for therapy.
